Due to the release of my newer and much more expansive Era of Fantasy asset pack, I have decided to give away this simpler, older top-down asset pack for free. Hope it's useful! https://aamatniekss.itch.io/topdown-fantasy-forest

Gosh... Andor was dull as dogshit hey. Wouldn't have bothered finishing it if it weren't for the hype. Also... basically no aliens? Fuckin weird. Sorry.

Ok so what's the full list of WOTC trademarked D&D monsters and what are our non-branded versions called?
Hey #TTRPG friends, how about we do something fun? Since we're all getting used to this new home, maybe we can generate some fun content together!
So, I invite everyone to make a little one-page micro dungeon/adventure and to post it with the tag #mastodungeon
(P.S. if you think this is a cool idea, please Boost this message so more folks see it)
We call the tree "strong," even "brave."
We praise it for growing around the fence.
We never ask it if it was given a choice.
We never ask it how much it hurts to have the cold, twisted steel bored through the tree's heartwood.
"Look how strong you are, tree! So resilient!"
It is never "How terrible the pain you must feel simply by existing with a fence inside of you?"
Never "How horrible that the fence can never be removed without also killing you."
Never "I'm so sorry I built the fence"
now ChatGPT seems really impressive and all but you have to remember that you can be tricked into thinking a rock has feelings by drawing a cute face on it
It's been a long time I haven't posted a #microblogpub update, so here we go:
On the #ActivityPub side:
- A blocked server entry now blocks all subdomains
- New "GIF mode" for video without audio (as Mastodon converts GIF to video, we now autoplay them in a loop when "hovered")
- The media proxy is more stable (bigger timeout + retries)
- A bunch of bug fixes and improvements
On the #IndieWeb side:
- Webmentions replies/likes/reposts are now being merged with ActivityPub interactions
- Improved microformats2 markup in templates
Also, in case you're worried, microblogpub is not vulnerable to the activitypub-troll[.]cf "attacks", as we're not fetching all the profiles mentioned in a note.
And I also pushed a #YunoHost update.
Thanks to all the new contributors!
Founded on a bay surrounded by mountains, the city has clear districts with the most affluent building rising high into the sky on the hillsides. I eventually settled for less muted colours than I experimented with, but with some lovely cool tones contrasting nicely with the reds and pinks of the buildings. As long as the topic of image description has your attention, I'd like to try & reproduce on Mastodon something I & several other volunteers organized on Twitter. It’s 2 hashtags to assist with image description.
The first is #ALT4me — blind & visually impaired individuals can reply to an image that lacks ALT text with this tag, so that sighted volunteers can then reply with a description. The strength of crowdsourcing this is that each person adds unique details from their own perspective, that when combined, form a detailed & meaningful conception of the image. It also allows one person to give a quick triage description, & then others can fill in details as they see fit.
The 2nd is #ALT4you — if you come across an image that is particularly striking, or one that you believe will quickly become iconic & part of a shared visual imagery/memory, please describe that image & tag it with this tag. This is particularly important during unfolding news stories that quickly break & change, leaving behind indelible visual impressions, that then shape most peoples memory & consciousness of the event. Obviously, for the blind/VI, without a description, search images, no matter how important, remain perceptual and informational black holes.
Thank you all again for the outstanding image description I have encountered so consistently in my limited experience on Mastodon.
announcement:
here is a new open source alternative to perlin noise: octavia noise
it is a lightweight fractal noise algorithm. it is generalizable to n dimensions. it is not based on gridded points, and does not exhibit linear artifacts.
this is suitable for terrain and other procgen work where organicity and reducing grid artifacts are important, especially situations where slope artifacts are important. the initial js implementation takes 4x as long as value noise.

Had an epic long dream with a years long romance and then I wake up and they're gone because they were never real. Hurts real bad for a moment but by lunch time I'll have forgotten entirely.
"waaaaah I don't want to SEE any political talk!"
As someone who is read as political just by walking into a room, I say
lmao fucking suffer
EDIT: white people are NOT a fan of this post; I've been blocked a few times already. Y'all do anything to preserve your white fragility and comfort. #SorryNotSorry #ByeBitch
@PhoebeWallerPalladino good rule to have around to make moderators feel more at ease dealing with that kinda shit
@PhoebeWallerPalladino@monads.online Whenever I've been in charge of community spaces I've made a point of not having a set of explicit rules, but rather a set of guidelines and values and the warning that being seen as compromising those guidelines and values in the eyes of the moderation team would be what gets you banned, not whether or not you break the letter of some rule. The reason I have taken this approach is simple: Fascists abuse rule systems. They will ignore the spirit of any rule that doesn't suit them but use the letter of the law to escape punishment for bad behaviour and bad faith behaviour and also to persecute those who are in your space in good faith.
Remember that the modern conservative movement is centred on the idea that the law should protect but not bind the in-group and bind but not protect the out-group.
The hypocrisy is the point. They can't be trusted. Trust yourself, your gut, and your humanity.
