Made the mistake of checking twitter and had to witness folks calling the Barbie movie transphobic because of the gynecologist gag at the end and instantly remembered why I don't go there anymore.

I genuinely think a bunch of people are probably seeing Oppenheimer this weekend as a part of a Boppenheimer viewing who might have otherwise just seen Barbie. And I think that number is much higher for Oppenheimer than it is for Barbie.

Old CRT TVs, as viewed from this era, truly sound like an early 20th century sci-fi "invention".
Imagine, if you will, a moving picture device working by having a compact and constantly firing particle cannon which spread was contained and molded by powerful magnets.
Does that really sound like a tech that ever existed in the real world?

"One thing I don't think people realize is that in arguments about human rights, it's not about trying to persuade the other party. It's not about them at all. They've already made up their mind.
It's about persuading the audience.
If I call out my teacher on being homophobic I'm not trying to change his opinion. I'm trying to convince any closeted kids in the room that they're not the monsters he's made them out to be.
If I argue with my aunt about how racist she's being it's not because I expect her to change her mind. It's because I'm hoping to god my cousin's kids hear and learn that maybe skin color doesn't mean what she says it means.
People will try to hush you and say 'they're not going to change their minds, don't bother' but it's not about them. It was never about them."

Been using #GodotEngine for all my own stuff the last few years, but this week I'm at a gamejam and we're using Unity and I just can't believe how much more frustrating it is for almost all the things I want to do, and is somehow getting worse? It no longer supports debugging in VScode? That's madness.
