Peer to peer salvation
Oh hey! I'm gonna be presenting a talk at Game Summit Sweden tomorrow! Just a little chat about making sure your gameplay actually utilises and engages with your game's open world.

TTRPG folks, don't sleep on the opportunity to get two amazing games by Luke Jordan in Possum Creek print here. Luke is one of the most evocative games writers out there & both of these games have years of delicious queer viscous heart sweat poured into them.

On a podcast I'm listening to the speaker just said "Not every old person is an elder. An elder is a position that serves their community."

Star Crossed is a great game, and this is only going to make it better! Give it a look, and maybe throw some cash in the pot. You won't regret it!

I wonder how long Americans have been saying "pass out" for the situation where I would say "fall asleep"? I assume it's a result of American hustle culture where "pass out" is presumably admirable because it implies exhaustion from work, while "fall asleep" might be negative because it implies rest and comfort?
Interestingly I always here "pass out" used in the specific tense "I laid down on the couch and passed out" but often those same people still use "fall asleep" in general tense "I can never fall asleep with the lights on"
My mind sometimes wanders over to Scooby-Doo remakes. There was a pretty terrible one recently, as you might remember.
But one thing I think people forget about the original Scooby-Doo is that all the characters were counterculture. Hippies, draft-dodgers, pot-heads, nerds-
Nowadays culture has drifted and they're not nearly as obviously counterculture.
It'd be fun to create an adaptation which brings back that feel, that kind of "the adults are fuckin' stupid, let's solve crimes" feel.

Fascinating both for what it says about dev & what it says about statistics:
A gamedev realized Linux users were just 5.8% of their sales, but represented 38% of bug reports.
Then they looked at those numbers closer, and realized. Linux users were not experiencing more bugs. Almost none of the Linux-user bugs were Linux-related. Linux users were simply *more likely to file bugs*.
Their conclusion: A linux port pays for itself bc it nerdsnipes ppl into giving u free QA

it's endlessly funny to me that humanity FIRST figured out how to show pictures on a screen by using carefully calibrated and timed electromagnets to sweep an electron beam of varying intensity across a glass panel coated in phosphor thousands of times a second, and SECOND put a bunch of lights in a rectangle

Apparently the next battle I’m going to have to fight (and will probably lose) with fellow leftists is that Univeral Basic Income programs cannot replace disability income programs, disabled people must be able to augment UBI with additional disability income because of the costs of support needs. And this is true even if the UBI amount is larger than any existing disability benefit. Whatever anyone thinks it costs to live with disability, it’s probably double that. Or more.
